Answers
1)   no , i doubt it . - slikk khidd

2)   It varies from state to state. Go on the Texas DMV website, I'm sure it has all the info on there. One thing to consider is that having driver's ed can cut down on the cost of your insurance premium. - Artemisc

3)   Yes, you do.

To quote the web page:

Driver Education

According to Texas law, the Department may not issue a driver license to a person who is under 25 years of age unless the person successfully completes an approved driver education course. Teens and young adults under 25 may meet this requirement by completing courses offered by private commercial driving schools, through public schools, or the parent taught program. - oklatom

4)   Before the national CDL network, it depended on the state. Now it is still preferred or proof of a school. You pay for it either way, but you can walk in with 2 picture ID's and SS card, pay for the written test, if you pass you automatically get the white card permit. Then its a required wait for the behind the wheel test because they want you to practice, then you pay for the license after you pass the skills test or behind the wheel. - Avatar535

Question 2
Do I need driving lessons to get my license?...  Okay, so I've had my temps for about a year and they've just expired. The problem is is that I've only had 4 (where I took drivers ed, we are supposed to have 6) behind the wheels and I need to get my temps renewed but don't want to pay the $35 since I'll be getting my license shortly after anyways. What I'd like to know though is, if I have my mom notarize that I have had over 50 hours of driving experience, can I take my drivers test and get my license? Please answer if you know cause I really want to get my license asap! Thanks a lot! :D

Answers
1)   no - Molham B

2)   you do in ohio - ladystang

3)   Ya if you want to do good on your road test. :) - BeenThereDoneThat

4)   Are you still a minor? Then you will need to renew. If you are an adult, you should contact the DMV and ask what their policy is for someone over the age of 18.

Question 3
How long can you go without car insurance in Michigan before becoming high risk?...  I just got screwed by my insurance place, and i want to cancel my policy immediately, but i won't be able to get car insurance again for at least a week. How long until i would become high risk in Michigan?

Answers
1)   if you cancel a policy, and do not have any insurance you are instantly a high risk, Yes I know you do not want to give any more money to the priviouse thief, but set up your new insurance, and on the day it kicks in, cancel the other insurance company, Some insurance companies are obviously supreme butt heads, do what you have to do, just make sure there is no lapse in coverage, and NEVER DEPEND ON SOMEONE OVER THE PHONE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM.BEFORE. notify them on the phone, keep track of day and time and who you talked to, follow it up with a certified letter, so there is no oops. My roommate canceled her previous insurance, for being a greedy thief, her new insurance said oh we will contact them, dont worry. (except the first insurance company says they were never notified, and want three months of insurance, THAT THEY ARE NOT ENTITLED TO. do not take a chance, cover your butt, keep a copy of the letter for your records, just in case. - dick car guy

2)   To save money auto insurance is a quite simple way to save on car expenses. You can get a easy estimate online they always give you competing prices.

I have used http://www.InsureAutoNow.info - Winona J

3)   I think it's time to get the insurance ASAP.
