How much does car insurance normally cost for a teenage boy?...  um, i am about to turn 15 and get my permit, so i wanted to know about how much car insurance costs? (monthly)

1)   I have a mustang GT and I pay around 600 per month. Im 17. Depending on what car you get you will be paying from 350-600 most likely. Also depends on your insurance company. You can always get you parents to be the main signer for the insurance and you could be secondary. Your insurance goes down like that, you will pay less, but if you get into an accident or something your parents' Insurance goes up. - Mario C

2)   When I was 16 and under my parents for insurance, they were paying 80 bucks for PLPD a month, but both of their records were clean. If it is limited coverage it can be very expensive depending on the make and model. Shop around for the best insurance, at least 3 places. Good luck! - dele28

can i cancel my car insurance immediately? cancel same day and not pay for the following month?...  The reason is i sold the car and the insurance guy said the car is still in the system (1st of the month), so i would have to pay still. he said if i canceled on the 15th it could have been canceled sooner and i wouldn't have to pay. i just think it's odd since i don't even have the car anymore. not sure if this makes sense? thanks

2)   My insurance company allowed me to cancel the car insurance the same day as long as I came in and signed a couple of papers. It cancelled immediately, and sometimes they prorate it so you may get some money back. - dele28

3)   If you already sold your car and you no longer are in possession of the car. Go to DMV to have the title transferred immediately. Then deal with the insurance company. You'll have proof from DMV and there should be no issue with canceling the insurance right then and there.



You go to DMV to transfer title to the new owner for several reasons (and in your best interest to avoid any complications later):



Parking tickets that he gets, still goes against you.



Any accidents will fall upon you cause the car is still in your name.



You're unable to get your insurance prorated back to the date you transferred title to the new owner.



If the new owner commits any criminal activities or the car gets stolen, it'll fall upon you, not the new owner.

how fast can i get a new car insurance plan?...  I'm getting my licence in two days (hopefully) but my parents say I cant drive until i get my own insurance plan, which i know nothing about. i guess my question really is, how long does it take to get my own insurance and is it possible to get a plan the day before i get my licence?

1)   You can actually get insurance an hour before you get your licence, the problem is as an unlicensed driver it would be pretty much impossible to get insurance on your own, and as a new driver it would be extremely costly. - Mark G

What happens if the person who hit you in an accident does not report it to their insurance in 30 days?...  By Florida law, they must report it within 30 days. Their insurance company already knows, but they are still required to report it.

my girlfriend bought a car that i will be driving. can she just add me as a second driver on her car insurance?...  she bought a new used car that i will be driving. she is the registered owner of car. is it better to just add me as a second driver to her insurance policy? or is it possible to add car to my own insurance policy even if i'm not the registered owner?
